City updating emergency sirens

The city of Waupaca, in conjunction with Waupaca County, is currently changing the radio frequency for the three city emergency tornado and fire call sirens.

This work is taking place to comply with current federal radio licensing regulations.

It is anticipated that the sirens will be reprogrammed and operable within the next few weeks.

City officials urge residents to monitor weather conditions and take needed precautions as is necessary.

The city also encourages residents to buy a weather radio for monitoring local weather conditions.
