Walk to End Alzheimer?s to be held in Waupca

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held Saturday, Sept. 8.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Waupaca Senior Center, 407 School St., and Walk festivities begin at 9:30 a.m.

Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises funds to provide care and support services to patients in Wisconsin.

Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.

As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease will escalate, increasing beyond today’s estimated 5.4 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s.

In addition to the walk, participants will enjoy food and beverages, raffle drawings, games, entertainment, and a special program to honor those who have experienced or are experiencing Alzheimer’s. The Walk is open to everyone! Start or join a team today! Go to at www. alz.org/walk to register.

“There has never been a greater need for residents of the Fox Valley to join in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s,” said Chris Enslin, chair of the Waupaca Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “Funds raised will provide care and support services to hundreds of residents in the area who are living with Alzheimer’s today. Your support will also contribute to advancing critically-needed research.”
