Lil Rev will be in concert from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Crystal River Inn.
An award-winning musician, Lil Rev performs on guitar, harmonica, mandolin, ukulele and banjo. He is also a songwriter and music historian from Milwaukee who teaches at concert halls, libraries, museums, schools, community and health centers.
For schools his programs provide a showcase for kids to learn about unique folk instruments as well as the music, labor and lore of the Midwest.
At health care facilities, Lil Rev works with patients who have disabilities, including dementia, developmentally disabled and the chronically ill. Hia music draws from a Dixie-land jazz, blues, folk songs, Celtic, ethnic waltzes, reels, jigs and polkas, and original works.
Drawing on material from personal interviews with Wisconsin quilters and historical documents, Lil Rev’s program will be dedicated to the storytelling art of quilting.
