Victory Church to host national conference

Victory Church in Waupaca will host its association’s national conference Sunday through Thursday, Sept. 23-27.

More than 200 ministers and lay ministers from throughout the world are expected to attend.

Victory Church is affiliated with the International Ministerial Association (IMA).

The IMA is not a denomination but an association of ministers and lay ministers. The IMA is composed of ministers from throughout the world.

It was in 2009 that Rev. Philip Thompson proposed Waupaca as the 2012 host city for the national conference.

Victory Church was selected for a number of reasons, including affordable accommodations, proximity to regional airports and the availability of restaurants and shopping.

The theme of the conference theme is “Seeing Him Who is Invisible.”

The keynote speaker will be Rev. Sam Walker.

He is the senior pastor of Church on the Rock North in Beaumont, Texas. He serves on the advisory board of “Christ for India” and on the “Ambassadors Network of Global Advance” and is the President of Aqua Resources Inc., whose sole purpose is to bring fresh water to the needy people of Latin America.

The conference will provide break-out sessions on topics such as “Elements of Worship,” “Treasurer’s Perspective on the Pastor and His Retirement,” “Developing a Powerful Youth Ministry” and “Effective Bi-Vocational Ministry.”

There is no charge for the conference. All ministers, lay ministers and church volunteers are invited to attend.

People may register online at www.victorychurchwi.com and go to “IMA Conference” or by calling Colleen Spindler at Victory Church at 715-258-9661.
