The Clintonville Trucker varsity volleyball team spiked their way to a win over the Freedom Irish on Thursday, Sept. 6.
The Truckers won the first set 25-19, but lost the second one by a score of 19-25.
Clintonville regrouped in the third set to win 15-16, and closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Allison Shepard had 13 digs and nine kills for Clintonville, while Carmen Johnson had 17 assists and six kills. Lynnea Johnson added 11 assists, while Autumn Voight had four blocks.
Shawano Tournament
The Truckers participated in the Shawano Tournament, but had a rough outing.
In pool play, the Truckers were 0-3, losing to Oconto (22-25, 12-25), Shawano (14-25, 21-25) and Peshtigo (18-25, 23-25).
In the playoff rounds, the Truckers were 0-2, losing to Kewaunee (13-25, 18-25) and Peshtigo (14-25, 22-25).
The Lady Truckers will host Waupaca at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, and will also host an invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
