The Waupaca Area Public Library is offering patrons a chance to clear their fines during a food drive being held Oct. 1-6.
“We will accept non-perishable food items in lieu of cash to pay overdue fees,” said Library Director Peg Burington.
For each item donated, the library will waive $1 from patrons’ accounts. All donations, which must be in cans or sealed boxes, will be given to the Waupaca Area Food Pantry.
Donated food applies only to fines, not toward lost or damaged materials.
