Truckers earn victory over Bulldogs

Volleyball fans converged upon the Clintonville High School Field House Tuesday, Sept. 25, to watch the Truckers take on the Bulldogs.

Clintonville jumped out to an early advantage in the first game, winning by a score of 25-19. New London immediately answered with a win in game two, by a score of 25-17.

In the third game, Clintonville earned a convincing 25-15 win. The Truckers held the momentum and cruised to a 25-12 win in the fourth game to capture the victory.

Allison Shepard led the Truckers with 12 kills and three digs. Taylor Carpenter added eight ace serves, while Carmen Johnson notched 14 assists and eight kills. Samantha Hohn contributed six ace serves to the attack.

The Bulldogs were led by Caleigh Shaw, who had one ace, seven attack kills, five block kills, and two assists. McKenna Quinter added eight attack kills and three block kills. Haley Steffanus notched one ace, nine attack kills, three block kills, three assists, and one dig. Emily Wilfuer tallied three aces, two attack kills, four block kills, 22 assists and two digs.

Clintonville’s JV team beat New London by scores of 25-9, 25-17, and 25-13. The Bulldog freshmen team earned a win over the Truckers by scores of 25-19, 26-24, and 28-26.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3, Clintonville 0

The Chargers beat the Truckers 25-14, 25-20, and 25-16 in their non-conference matchup.

Shepard led the way for Clintonville with six kills. Janessa Hauser added three kills, while Carpenter had four digs. Chrissy Betz also added four digs.

Seymour 3, New London 1

The Lady Bulldogs lost the first two games by scores of 15-25 and 20-25, but came back to beat the Thunder in the third game by a score of 25-22.

Seymour quelled the rally by winning the fourth game by a score of 25-15.

Shaw had two attack kills and four block kills to go along with two digs and one assist. Wilfuer tallied one attack kill, one block kill, 16 assists and four digs. Racheal Huebner added two aces, six attack kills, two block kills, one assist, and 32 digs.

Clintonville will host Little Chute at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in their Homecoming volleyball match. New London travels to West De Pere for a match at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4.
