Eland, Mitzie Diane

Mitzie Diane Eland, age 84, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Mitzie was born on April 11, 1928 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Sturtevent) Wood. Mitzie married Howard M.Snapp III in 1950 and later married Douglas M. Eland on August 27, 1973 in Rockford, IL and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2001. She worked for many years at the Waukesha Health and Human Services Department. She was a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons: Gregory Snapp, Waukesha, WI; Randell Snapp, Waupaca, WI; Michael Snapp, Waukesha, WI; her granddaughter, Kira Snapp and her sister, Lois Mander, Bayonet Point, Florida. Mitzie was also preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Richter. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Amalraj Roche. Burial will follow in the Big Falls Cemetery, Town of Wyoming, Wisconsin. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at the church. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
