Waupaca District Administrator David Poeschl has stated “the district has cut spending to make up the difference the past few years,” evidentially not enough to match the declining enrollment.
If there is a declining enrollment, there must be a matching decline in administration, staff, and buildings.
Do not take the lack of state aid out on the property owners.
These are tough economic times, this is not the time for increased taxes.
Waupaca is not an affluent wage-earning area.
Property owners are hardly keeping ahead of their expenses without additional property taxes.
Like the rest of us, the school district should budget. Tighten the school budget without penalizing property owners.
