Vilas O. Timm, age 78, of West Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at his home in his loving wife’s arms after a lengthy battle with lung cancer and heart disease. Born on September 21, 1934, in the Town of Saxeville, Vilas was the son of the late Alvin and Esther (Robbert) Timm. On October 16, 1954, Vilas married Marilyn Moak at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. Vilas devoted 50 years working at the Wagner Brothers Cheese Factories. Vilas and Marilyn also farmed in Poy Sippi for 20 years. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, bowling, going to the cabin up north and riding Harleys with his wife. Vilas is survived by his wife of 58 years Marilyn; five children: Daniel (Mary), Weyauwega; Brian (Regie), Manawa; Lynn (Robert) Owen, Weyauwega; Jerome (Brenda), Waupaca; and Debbie (Todd) Larsen, Weyauwega; 13 grandchildren: Amy Timm, Collin (Tanya) Timm, Heather (Brian) Villalobos, Melissa (Shane) Hecker, Dalton Timm, Tashiana Wentworth, Sarah (Andrew) Zimmerman, Tyler Owen, Joshua and Erika Timm, Beau, Brooklyn and Brienna Larsen; three great-grandchildren, Rylee and Levin Timm and Bentley Wachel, a brother, Velmer Timm, Pine River; a sister, Elvis Behm, Weyauwega; a sister-in-law, Nancy Moak, Waupaca; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark; two sisters-in-law, Joan Timm and Oleatta Spiegelberg, and four brothers-in-law: Normand Moak, Roger Behm, Carl Spiegelberg and Elnor Timm. Visitation was held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 23, at Lewin Funeral Home in Fremont, and on Wednesday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 24, at 11:00 AM at Emmaus Lutheran Church, N180 County Rd A, Waupaca. Rev. H. William Jordan officiated. Burial was in Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
