Community Insurance of Iola will host a chili cook-off from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at their office at 130 N. Main St., Iola.
“We have four office locations; Iola, Amherst, Stevens Point, and Waupaca, so we wanted to bring our employees together for an event,” said Samantha Gruber, the social media director at Community Insurance. “We thought a chili cook-off would be a great way to get our employees and customers together for something fun.”
There will be a chili recipe for everyone; beans or no beans, spicy or mild. The cost is $2 per person to sample them all and vote for the best chili.
The chili will be made by employees of Community Insurance. The employee with the most votes will donate all proceeds to the community charity of their choice.
“The cook-off has created a lot of fun competitive talk between the Team Members at Community Insurance,” said Dale Bestul, who runs Community Insurance in Iola. “We are really looking forward to having the community settling who actually makes the best chili. But more importantly we are excited to raise some money for charity.”
Community Insurance plans to match the funds that are raised.
