Jake Schertz, a sophomore theatre arts major, will perform as Bazzard in “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” at Carroll University, Nov. 16-17, 2012.
Jake is a 2011 graduate of Clintonville High School and son of Mike and Rhonda Schertz of Bear Creek. Previously, Jake has directed “An Evening of Schwartz Music,” stage managed “Little Shop of Horrors” with the Box in the Wood Theatre Guild and assistant stage managed “The Shape of Things” at Carroll. In December, he will direct a concert reading of “RENT.”
“The Mystery of Edwin Drood” is a fun-filled, choose-your-own-ending musical based on the Charles Dickens unfinished masterpiece of the same name. The musical takes us right to the point that Dickens stopped writing and then asks the audience to decide the identity of the killer. It was nominated for 11 Tony awards, winning five, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book and Best Direction.
