Truckers hold awards banquet

The Clintonville Quarterback Club held its annual end-of-season football banquet on Monday, Nov. 5, in the high school commons. A pot luck meal with catered-in meat from Mathew’s Supper Club was served to those in attendance.

The night began with silent auction items and the traditional bidding on a team signed Trucker football helmet and a team signed football from the Xavier game this year. All proceeds go toward the football program.

Following the meal and auction items, awards were presented to the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity football players. The following individuals received awards, and each senior received a medal from the Quarterback Club in recognition of his contribution to the football program:

Coaches Awards

• Good, Better Best Award – Senior John Klemp

• Special Teams Award – Junior Jake Reiter

• Most Improved Player – Junior Dustin Zarnoth

• Practice Player – Senior Vince Pelky

• Rookie of the Year – Sophomores Nick Hogen and Skyler Lehman

• Courage Award – Senior Kyle Petermann

• Hustle Award – Senior Nathan Poppe

• Mike Mahnke 2 Way Player – Senior Bryce Schoen

• Golden Helmet Award – Junior Ross Westphal

• Savage Award – Senior Bryce Schoen
