Bulldogs earn win over Truckers

The Truckers hosted the New London Bulldogs in a non-league boys basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 13. The Bulldogs earned a 57-45 win.

Clintonville started hot, outscoring New London 16-7 in the first quarter. New London battled back in the second frame by outscoring Clintonville 15-8. Clintonville led 24-22 at halftime.

In the third quarter, New London outscored Clintonville 16-8. The Bulldogs kept the momentum in the final quarter, outscoring Clintonville 19-13 to earn the 57-45 win.

New London was 20-of-51 from the field (39 percent) while Clintonville was 18-of-57 from the field (31 percent). The Truckers made four of 23 3-point attempts (17 percent) while the Bulldogs made five of 14 attempts (35 percent). Clintonville made five of 10 free throws (50 percent) while New London made 12 of 18 attempts (66 percent).

The Truckers grabbed 28 rebounds, with nine coming on the offensive end. The Bulldogs earned 34 rebounds, with eight on offense.

Clintonville had 10 assists and nine turnovers, while New London had nine assists and 11 turnovers. Clintonville tallied nine steals, while New London had five steals.

The Truckers committed 20 fouls, compared to New London’s 13.

In the paint, the Bulldogs outscored the Truckers 52-32. New London’s bench outscored Clintonville’s bench, 28-13.

Jacob Pinch scored 11 to lead the Bulldogs, while Ryan Wolf added nine. Chris Steingraber scored eight, while Jared Thebo and Luke Listle scored six each. Devon Garbers netted five, while Caleb Chmielewski, Hunter Sullivan, and Jacob Thomas all scored four.

John Schultz scored 10 to lead Clintonville, while Jesse Brauer added eight. Kolin Kubitz and Aaron Ziemer scored six each, while Jansen Van Daalwyk scored five. Nathaniel Krueger added four, as did Turner Doornink. Adam Weatherwax scored two.
