Taste of Christmas at Spencer Lake

Dec. 8 event offers food, music, live Nativity, petting zoo, arts and crafts.

The Taste of Christmas returns to Spencer Lake Christian Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

Now in its third year, the holiday event offers food, music and family activities.

Civic groups, churches and local businesses donate and volunteer to help make this a communitywide event.

The Justmann Band and the Waupaca High School Madrigal Singers will perform in Celebration Hall.

Jamaican Kitchens, D-Fuego, and Chef Chu’s will serve food and refreshments.

Activities include pictures and visits with Santa, Children’s Story Corner, Holiday Treat Shoppe, Christmas Trails Wagon Rides, Live Nativity and a petting zoo, Tinsel Town Theatre, a tribute to veterans and service members, Red Ryder BB gun range, Star of Wonder Theatre, Christmas Shoppe, Festival of Trees, bonfires and marshmallows

?and a blood drive.

The event will benefit three local charities: Waupaca Miracle Tree (drop site day of event), Waupaca Area Food Pantry and the Waupaca Area Pregnancy Information Center.

New this year is the Teacher’s Supply Depot, where people can donate school supplies to be given to Waupaca area schools so teachers can help students in need during the year.

Children receive entrance to visit Santa, the Yuletide Workshop and get a free lunch by donating a food item for the Waupaca Area Food Pantry, a pair of mittens for Miracle Tree or giving a $1 donation per child.

The Spencer Lake Christian Center is located at N1385 County Road E, five miles south of Waupaca.
