Museum offers unique gifts

The New London Public Museum is offering unique gifts for this holiday season.

Items include: T-shirts, walking tour booklets and reproductions of historic maps, books and CDs about the history of Edison Wood Products and Little Folks Furniture, and a bird book illustrated by Wisconsin artist Paul Dominguez.

T-shirts range in size from adult small to x-large and are pre-shrunk 100 percent cotton. They cost $12.50 each. We have reprints of our 1871 and 1893 birds-eye view maps. The maps are $5 each.

To add to the hometown history, walking tour booklets from 2006, 2008 and 2010, and the 2011 Cemetery Walk honoring Civil War veterans are available. They are full of information about the families and businesses of New London, and are available for a $1 donation each.

To round out the entire package a book and CD about the history of Edison Wood Products and Little Folks Furniture is available.

For that nature lover on your list, check out Wisconsin artist Paul Dominguez’s bird book on sale now for $20 each!

If none of those will work, a gift membership to the Friends of New London Public Museum might do the trick. Benefits for Friends include advance notice of museum exhibits and programs, reduced admission to selected events and membership in Time Travelers with discounts at over 200 museums and historic sites around the country.

For a unique gift, sponsor the restoration of a bird at the museum in honor of anyone on your list. The New London Public Museum has over 200 birds in the collection. Typically, over 130 are on display year round. Most of the birds at NLPM are close to or over 100 years old.
