There was no agenda item in the town meeting notes, no minutes in any town meeting and no notice, yet 14…yes 14 large pine trees were chopped down by Chris klein and the Town of Dayton Maintenance crew on West Spencer Lake Road the back yard of the Holbrook Family land!!
We know the town has the right to remove trees within the right of way on any town/hwy. road.except on military roads. But, we don’t see where there is any sort of improvement and just because they can does that make it right? We called Chris Kleinand he indicated they plan to put parking spots along the road. Really? And what exactly is that going to accomplish? Chris Klein is simply demonstrating irresponsibility in office and certianly no sense of compassion or logic in this matter. Rather he is abusing his power in office. Where is the rationale of cutting down these mature trees, they were not blocking anything except to provide a privacy fence for us. What does he intend to do now? Widen the road? If so, this needs to be cost justified and brought up in the budget. Do taxpayers really need to pay for widening of this road, how riduculous. If anything, improvement to the boat landing needs to be done, instead of throwing large boulders at the base of the landing!! We think he put the cart before the horse on this one.
