Toby Hegner scored 29 points, including 20 in the first half alone, to lead Berlin to a 49-41 Eastern Valley Conference boys’ basketball win over Waupaca Dec. 14.
The Indians led 11-8 after one quarter, 27-15 at halftime and 38-24 after three quarters before Waupaca had a 17-11 advantage over the final eight minutes.
Zander Neuville led Waupaca with 14 points, while Nate Jenson also finished in double figures with 10.
The Comets played a nonconference game at Green Bay Preble Dec. 18 and will return to EVC play at 7:15 tonight (Thursday, Dec. 20) at Clintonville.
