Rasmussen, Viola F.

Viola F. Rasmussen, Schofield, WI (formerly of Waupaca, WI), age 91 – died on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Lili Assisted Living in Schofield, WI.

She was born on March 10, 1921 in Powell, WY, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Halsey) Annis. She married Harry Rasmussen on June 22, 1940 in Waupaca, WI. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2002.

Viola is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Hartman of Gilbert, AZ; her son, Donald (Kristine) Rasmussen of Schofield, grandchildren: Kevin (Amy) Drath, Anders (Amy) Rasmussen, Cheryl Hartman, Kara Rasmussen, and Marta Rasmussen; great grandchildren, Megan D. Drath and Josef Rasmussen; a sister, Dorothy Pippin of Beloit, WI, and a brother-in-law, Arthur (June) Rasmussen of Colorado Springs, CO. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Rasmussen; two grandsons, Peter Rasmussen and Brian Drath; her son-in-law, Ronald Hartman; two sisters, Myrtle Campbell and Marjorie Butterworth; a brother, George Annis.

Viola was a longtime, faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She was a dedicated farm wife for over 50 years. She had been a member of a sewing club in the Waupaca area, and she had volunteered at the Meals on Wheels site in Waupaca for about four years. She enjoyed gardening and maintained both flower and vegetable gardens for many years. She fiercely loved her family and prayed for them continually.

A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Jennifer DeNetz, Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Thursday morning from 10:00 – 11:30 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements. The family extends a special and sincere Thank You to Lili Assisted Living of Schofield, their staff, and to Interim Hospice Care of Wausau for the loving care given to Viola during her stay.
