James Allen Gipp, age 51 of Clintonville, departed on his journey into heaven Sunday, December 30, 2012 after a short fight with cancer.
Born on April 6, 1961 in Shawano, he was the son of Marvin and Janet (Wetzel) Gipp. He grew up on the family’s dairy farm and attended Cecil Elementary School and Bonduel High School. After graduating from high school, James enlisted with the United States Army and served his country for six years where he received The Good Conduct Medal. While in the military, he worked as a mechanic on armored vehicles. After being discharged from the military, James was employed as a truck driver for more than 30 years, the last 17 of which were for Graf Creamery in Zachow. He also worked part-time as a driver for Oak Grove Dairy in Pella. He was a dedicated employee and a hard worker. On August 11, 1983 he was united in marriage to Tina Otto. James was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed many successful hunting seasons. Especially important to him was planning and reviewing each hunt with his brother, Jeff and his hunting buddies. James loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time enjoying it whether it was hunting, gardening or riding his motorcycle. James was a wonderful man. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his smart remarks and boisterous laugh, which will be sorely missed by his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
James is survived by: his wife, Tina; 3 children, Shannon (Jeremy Jeager) Elertson of Sugar Bush, Jereme Gipp of Clintonville, Ashley (Dustin Deyo) Gipp of Clintonville; 6 grandchildren: Joel, Ashton, Tiara, Landon, Jordon, Bethany; his parents, Marvin and Janet Gipp of Cecil; a sister, Janalee (Larry) Wetzel; 2 brothers, Jeff (Debbie Nofkee) of Shawano, Victor Gipp of Zachow; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
