Bernadette Pegorsch (right) is pictured with her mother, Ilse Kosobucki, as Main Street Marketplace celebrated its 25th anniversary on Dec. 15.
Bernadette and her husband, Kent, have seen many changes in downtown Waupaca since they opened the store.
“When we started, the courthouse, Stu’s, Hansen’s Appliance, Schultz Brother’s and Drivas’s Drug Store were all still located on Main Street,” he said. “The courthouse was then torn down, a new city hall and library built, the Main Street Waupaca program helped rejuvenate Main Street, and now we have many new and interesting stores and restaurants located downtown. It has been an interesting journey, and we look forward to the next 25 years.”
