Bonduel overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Iola-Scandinavia 48-38 Jan. 10 in a Central Wisconsin 8 Conference girls’ matchup in Iola.
The Thunderbirds outscored the visitors 13-8 in the first quarter and 13-11 in the second to take a 26-19 halftime lead, but the Bears rallied with a 17-3 advantage in the third quarter before outscoring the T-Birds 12-9 over the final eight minutes.
Brooke Phillips and Kylie Johnson led I-S with 13 and 11 points, respectively, while Phillips added 13 rebounds and Jane Oligney dished out five of the team’s seven assists.
Jenni Dowden led Bonduel with 14 points.
The T-Birds hosted Auburndale Jan. 15 and will head to Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, to face the Chargers.
