Magdanz, Myra W.

Myra W. Magdanz, age 94, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Crystal River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waupaca, WI.

She was born on March 12, 1918 in the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County, WI, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Niemuth) Nielsen. She married Robert K. Magdanz on May 15, 1943 in Waupaca. Myra is survived by her step-daughter, Gail Magdanz-Patterson of Aurora, IL; four grandchildren: Jill, Jim, Jon, and Jody; a brother, Henry (Terri) Nielson of Waupaca, and a number of special nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Magdanz in 1986; her son, Jay Magdanz in 2006; her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Marion Nielson, and a special aunt and uncle, Agnes and Martin Flink. While living in Waupaca Myra was employed as a sales clerk for the former Glover’s Dept. Store and Campbell’s Dept. Store. After moving to Appleton she worked again as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney’s and at Prange’s Dept. Store.

A private family memorial service was held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI, with Rev. Mark Sabin, officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca, WI at a later date. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements. AFTERGLOW, I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an Afterglow of smiles when day is done. I’d like to leave an echo…Whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done.
