Presidential power

We see news information coming out on John F. Kennedy and his affairs with Marilyn Monroe and others.

I just saw another article on the Clinton-Lewinski scandal. Lance Armstrong lost his medals, and General David Petraeus had to resign in disgrace.

Our disappointments are endless. Wars go on around the globe.

Why?

Because we are sons of Adam “by nature children of wrath.” – Ephesians 2:3.

Our founders recognized human nature and understood too much power was apt to corrupt.

One of the things they accused the king of (He has erected a multitude of new offices and has sent hither swarms of officers to harrass our people and eat our their substance.) was a cause to overthrow the government of England.

The U.S. Constitution was written to limit federal power and provide checks and balances between executive, legislative and judicial branches.

This was done to protect we the people from any corrupt or out of control executive or official, because the founders knew human nature, especially when not tempered by fear of God.

In a new movie by Steven Spielberg, (Abraham) Lincoln says, “I am the president of the United States, clothed in immense power.”

President Obama says he is a fan of Lincoln.

He has no re-election to worry about. He is feeling his power.

His administration is now spewing out 2,000 new regulations each month.

Only Congress can slow him down.

Otherwise, he will cotninue to send hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.
