Forum about proposed fitness center planned

January 22, 2013

A public informational forum about the proposed community fitness center addition at Weyauwega-Fremont High School will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the middle school library.

Members of the W-F Booster Club will answer questions about the proposal.

It is open to the public.

The W-F School Board, at its regular monthly meeting in November, committed $400,000 to the project, if the booster club raises $400,000 by June 1.

The booster club is starting its fundraising campaign with a mailing to all addresses in the Weyauwega and Fremont zipcodes.

More than 4,000 brochures and donation forms will be mailed.

Ben Claassen, a member of the booster club, said between $60,000 and $70,000 has been raised thus far through the group’s initial contacts, which included area businesses.
