Yeska resigns

Megan Yeska, who took over as Manawa Elementary School principal at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year, has resigned.

The Manawa Board of Education accepted her resignation at a special board meeting on Monday, Jan. 28. The resignation was the only item on the agenda. District Administrator Ed Dombrowski said the resignation is effective the end of the year.

Prior to the vote to accept Yeska’s resignation, the board met in closed session for a little more than one hour.

“It was a discussion about a resignation,” said Dombrowski about the closed session.

After reconvening in open session, the board gave Yeska the opportunity to address the board. She declined to address the board.

The board voted unanimously to accept the resignation. Board members Corinne Zielke and Randy Rosin were absent.

After the vote, Yeska was given paperwork, which she signed after reading it. She left immediately after the meeting was adjourned. In a followup email, she declined to comment.

Board President Kurt Kreklow declined to comment about the resignation.

The district would not release Yeska’s resignation letter, or any other information related to the resignation.
