Lady Bulldogs top Thunder, Vikings

The Lady Bulldogs obliterated the Seymour Thunder in the first half of their Bay Conference matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

New London rode their first-half momentum to a 65-40 win.

New London led 23-9 after one quarter and 35-16 at halftime.

Seymour outscored New London 12-11 in the third quarter, but New London answered by putting up 19 points in the final frame while holding the Thunder to 12 points.

Mickey Roland led New London with 14 points, while Brenna Heise scored 12. Lexi Roland added 10 points, Megan Schlieve scored seven, Cambria Fitzgerald and Cassidy Pethke scored six each, Gretl Steingraber netted five, Andrea LeNoble and Amber Pethke both scored two, and Alycia Halvorson scored one.

Pethke, Roland, and Schlieve all hit 3-point baskets for New London.

New London 33, Denmark 21

The Lady Bulldogs dominated the first quarter and used the big lead to earn a victory over the Denmark Vikings on Friday, Feb. 8.

New London outscored Denmark 11-0 in the first quarter. Denmark responded by outscoring New London 7-6 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, New London outscored Denmark 8-7. The Lady Bulldogs duplicated that effort in the fourth quarter, again outscoring the Vikings 8-7 to seal the win.

Heise scored 21 points, while Mickey Roland added 12. The duo was the only two Bulldogs to score.

The Lady Bulldogs play at home on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 7:15. They also play at home on Monday, Feb. 18, with the opening tip set for 7:15 p.m.
