A strong second half propelled the Lady Trucker varsity basketball team to a 50-36 win over the Ripon Tigers on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Clintonville led 12-11 after one quarter and 25-22 at halftime.
The Lady Truckers outscored the Tigers 11-7 in the third quarter and 14-7 in the final frame to put the game away.
Chrissy Betz led Clintonville with 14 points, while Allison Shepard added 10. Marietta Sorenson scored eight, Autumn Voigt added seven, Miranda Hagberg tallied five, and both Allison Johnson and Taylor Carpenter scored three points.
Clintonville made 16 of 54 shots (29 percent) and missed all four of their 3-point attempts.
The Lady Truckers grabbed 40 rebounds, with 18 on offense. The team also had one assist, 14 steals, and three blocks to go with 10 turnovers and 24 fouls.
Winneconne 41, Clintonville 31
The Wolves led 9-4 after one quarter and 19-10 at halftime. Winneconne outscored Clintonville 22-21 in the second half to seal the victory.
Shepard and Betz led Clintonville with four points each. Voigt added three, Sorenson and Carpenter tallied two, and Kaitlin Collier scored one.
The Truckers made 10 of 38 shots (26 percent) and 1 of 7 3-point shots (14 percent). The team made 8 of 12 free throws (66 percent) and grabbed 20 rebounds, with 12 on offense.
Clintonville had two assists, 16 steals, one block, and 13 turnovers to go with 16 fouls.
