Kleidon, Marvel J.

Marvel J. Kleidon, Wautoma, WI (formerly of Wild Rose, WI), passed away peacefully on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on August 1, 1927, the daughter of Adolph and Lucille Kozlovsky. She married Walter J. Kleidon on June 5, 1948 in Sturgeon Bay, WI. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2009.

Marvel is survived by her four children: Victoria (David) Oestmann of Fort Atkinson, IA; Connie (Jim) Stuempges of Montello, WI; Sandy (Mark) Hagenbach of Green Bay, WI; and Edward W. Kleidon of La Crosse; grandchildren: Jeremy (Sarah) Oestmann, Melissa (Jeremie) Port, James Wilson, Nicholas Stuempges, Joshua Stuempges, Ryan Hagenbach, and Benjamin Hagenbach. She is further survived by her sister, Doris Neuville of Sturgeon Bay, WI; her brother, Don (Sally) Kozlovsky of Sturgeon Bay, WI; sister-in-law, Shirley Jankowski of Illinois; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

It was hard to find Marvel without a smile on her face. She enjoyed every day of her life. Whether it was quilting, traveling with her husband Wally, preparing holiday gatherings, or playing cards, she made each day an occasion. Marvel graduated from Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. Grass never had a chance to grow under Marvel’s feet. She attended her grandchildren’s weddings and graduations, watched the Packers at Lambeau Field, ventured to Europe, Hawaii, and Yellowstone National Park, and gave away enough quilted fabric to cover Wrigley Field. Her handmade masterpieces enriched those who received them. Despite her active lifestyle she would enjoy quiet periods during warm days watching birds visit her feeders. Devoted wife, loving mother, selfless grandmother and valued friend, Marvel will now make Heaven more wonderful.

A memorial service celebrating Marvel’s life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Wild Rose, WI. Memorials can be directed to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Wild Rose or the National Kidney Foundation of WI (www.kidneywi.org) in memory of Marvel J. Kleidon. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
