Classic films at Waupaca library

Two films remain in the First Thursday Film Series at the Waupaca Area Public Library this spring.

All shows are free and begin at 1:30 p.m. in the library’s lower level meeting room. Popcorn, theater candy and soft drinks are provided.

Dr. Jack Rhodes will introduce each film and lead a brief discussion afterward.

Due to copyright restrictions, the names of the films cannot be publicized in other media.

On Thursday, April 4, Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich and Chareles Laughton star in a famous courtroom drama based on Agatha Christie’s short story and play.about an American inventor accused of killing an elderly British widow.

On Thursday, May 2, Audie Murphy and Andy Devine star in Stephen Crane’s classic Civil War tale of a Union recruit facing up to life-or-death situations during the Battle of Chancellorsvile.
