Administrative contracts renewed

The Clintonville School Board renewed six administrative and supervisory contracts Monday, March 11.

Board members voted 5-1 in favor of renewing contracts for 2013-14 for Food Service Director Karleen Brei, Rec Center Director Pam Gray-Verhulst and Building and Grounds Director Steve Reinke, and for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years for High School Principal Lance Bagstad, Rexford-Longfellow Elementary Principal Kris Straumann, and Curriculum Director Chris Van Hoof.

Board Clerk Jim Dins voted no, stating that he thought the board was going to discuss renewing each contract before making a decision.

Some administrators – such as Superintendent Tom O’Toole, High School Activities Director Adam Englebretson, Business Manager Jenny Goldschmidt, and Middle School Principal Tom Dechant – are already under a two-year contract and are not up for renewal this year.

Supervisory positions are one-year contracts, as dictated by state law.

The board also voted 5-0-1 in favor of teacher contract renewals. Board Member Ben Huber abstained.

Contracts were renewed for all teachers now under contract with the Clintonville School District, except for teachers who have resigned or have been given preliminary notices of non-renewal.

Letters of intent to renew individual contracts for the 2013-14 school year will be issued in accordance with the Master Agreement.

O’Toole said the district did not issue any notices of non-renewal of contracts to any administrators, supervisors, or teachers.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, in the middle school IMC.
