Mary J. Collar, age 79, New London, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Mary was born on August 8, 1933, daughter of the late Fred and Irene (Minton) Schroeder. On August 18, 1951, she was united in marriage to John Collar. He preceded her in death in 1985. Mary worked as a nurse’s aid at New London Community Hospital and later at St. Joseph Residence for 17 years and also for the New London School District hot lunch program for 10 years.

Mary is survived by her sons, Michael (Mary Ellen) and Chris (Linda), both of New London; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jack) Larsen, Adam and Steven and eight great grandchildren: Kimberly, Tristen, Tanner, Aubree, Aidan, Amara, Laila and Hailie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter Pam.

Funeral mass for Mary will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. Arul Joseph Irudamoney officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to express their gratitude to St. Joseph Residence staff, Dr. M. Johnson and Nurse Cindy and also Appleton Medical Center for all the care and concern they gave to our mother.
