Drive-by shooting in King

Multiple shots were fired from a moving car into Wally World and an apartment at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in King.

Rickey Stoflet Jr., 35, was seriously wounded by a bullet and taken to the hospital.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department, Stoflet called 911 at 3:30 a.m. to report gunshots, then called five minutes later and said that he had been shot.

A deputy who arrived immediately after the second call provided first aid until the ambulance arrived.

Stoflet’s family reported Sunday that he was in critical but stable condition.

At the time he was shot, Stoflet was inside his apartment, which is attached to the rear of the bar at N2708 County Road QQ. The bar is owned by his father and Stoflet occassionally oversees it.

Investigators believe two people were involved. They are looking for a light-colored, four-door 2002-05 Chevrolet Impala.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department at 715-258-4466 or call Crime Stoppers at 888-258-9955.
