Helen M. Aniol of Waupaca, age 95, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca.
Helen was born September 28, 1917 in rural Pulaski, the daughter of Stanley and Elizabeth Lech. When Helen was a child the family moved to rural Gresham. Following school, she moved to Chicago where she met Mitchell Aniol. Helen and Mitch were married in Chicago in 1947. They moved to the farm in rural Waupaca with Mitchell’s parents shortly after the wedding. Their son, Rick, was raised there and Helen resided there until entering the nursing home in August of 2011. Helen spent much of her life caring for others and working on the family’s farm. Gardening, sewing and cooking were also how she spent much of her time. She had many great memories of times spent dancing and listening to her husband and son play music along with some good friends.
Helen is survived by her son, Richard Aniol of Appleton; two sisters, Evelyn Galiej of Elbourn, IL; and Angeline Neumier of Gresham, WI; many nieces, nephews, loving friends and family. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Elizabeth Lech; brother, Roger and three sisters, Lucille, Julia and Irene.
The Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Friends and family may gather on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to Richard Aniol at 1824 W. Marquette St. Apt 4, Appleton, WI 54914.
