New London grad to appear with Wisconsin Singers

Cera Malueg, current saxophonist of the Wisconsin Singers and a 2012 graduate of New London High School, is looking forward to returning to her Alma Mater.

Malaug and UW Madison’s most talented singers, dancers and instrumentalists, the Wisconsin Singers, will be returning to New London High School, Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. The show will be featuring performances by the local talents of Vision and Vocal Motion.

“Being able to perform in my hometown means a lot to me,” Malueg said. “I get to see all my friends and family and all the people that have helped me get to where I am today. They’ll get a chance to see what I’ve been working on since I left New London.”

Can’t Stop Us Now!, the Singers’ newest and best show yet, was arranged by the writers of Glee and The Sing Off! It highlights the best of American popular music from the last 40 years. This show has something for the whole family including hits by timeless legends Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson, chart-topping tunes by pop icons from Bruno Mars to Katy Perry, and even a couple of songs for kids of all ages sung by Oscar the Grouch and Miss Piggy.

Proceeds from the show will be used to help fund New London’s show choirs.

“Everyone should come to see the Wisconsin Singers perform in New London because it’s a unique show that you’re not going to find anywhere else,” Malueg said. “It has something that the whole family will enjoy and you will not be disappointed.”

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at Festival Foods, the New London Chamber of Commerce, or by calling 608-886-6801.
