Customer service returns to Waupaca

Since Multi Media Channels purchased the County Post in December 2012, the company has been busy redirecting priorities, upgrading software and reassigning staff.

Among the first changes County Post customers will notice will be how subscriptions are handled.

Multi Media Channels (MMC) is bringing the County Post’s subscription services back from Milwaukee to Waupaca.

The company has named Jolene Walbruck as the new subscription specialist for the County Post.

“I am pleased to introduce Jolene as our County Post subscription specialist,” said Kathy Banks, general manager. “She will be bringing local, friendly customer service back to our County Post readers. We are excited to offer local staff taking care of local customers.”

For the past three months, Walbruck has been working directly with readers who have been unable to renew their subscriptions when they call Milwaukee.

For more than a year prior to the sale of the County Post to MMC, local subscribers have experienced subscription cancellations after sending payment and received incorrect invoices.

Attempts to remedy the situation have often resulted in frustration as customers were made to wait on hold for up to an hour after calling Milwaukee.

Currently, Walbruck is ensuring delivery for dozens of County Post customers by hand-addressing envelopes and mailing individual papers to those who have not received them.

“It has been very difficult due to the issues our customers have had with Milwaukee,” Walbruck said. “I’ve been informing our customers that we’re bringing the subscription services back to Waupaca, and they’re very excited.”

Walbruck has been working with the Buyers’ Guide since 1998. Her responsibilities have included telemarketing, working with classified ads customers and, most recently, as an assistant to the sales staff.

Walbruck was chosen for the position because of her ability to work with customers and solve problems.

“Customers had such a hard time getting through to Milwaukee that I’ve been the person doing it for them,” Walbruck said. “Now, when people call to renew their subscription, they will be calling my direct line. They will only get my voice-mail if I’m on the phone with another customer. If they leave a message, I will call them right back.”

Walbruck lives in the Sugar Bush area near New London. She moved to Wisconsin in the summer of 1998.

“My dad is originally from Wisconsin. He served in the military, so we lived wherever he was stationed,” Walbruck said. “I moved to Wisconsin to be closer to my father, who moved back to the area and now works as a truck driver.”

Married for nine years, Walbruck is the mother of 6-year-old twins, who attend Parkview Elementary School in New London.

“I enjoy working in customer service, and I can’t wait to help people with their subscriptions,” Walbruck said.
