Hart lifts Indians over Manawa

Tyler Hart had a big day on the mound and at the plate for the Weyauwega-Fremont baseball team.

He scattered five hits, had two hits and drove in three runs in the Indians’ 7-5 Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win over Manawa.

The Indians built a 4-0 lead with two runs in the first two innings, but Manawa cut the lead in half with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning.

W-F added to its lead with three runs in the bottom of the third, but the Wolves cut into the lead again with a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh.

Hart struck out seven batters in the Indians’ season opener and his hits included an RBI single in the first and a two-run double in the fourth.

Casey Johnson took the loss for Manawa.

The Indians will head to Wittenberg-Birnamwood today (Thursday, April 11) to take on the Chargers before returning home to host Bonduel at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, and Oshkosh Lourdes at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.
