Lady Bulldog softball team swinging for top finish

The Lady Bulldog softball team posted a 15-1 record in the Bay Conference and a 23-2 overall record last year. The team is hoping their dominance continues this season.

Coaches Laura Turner and Tony Porath have 25 years of combined coaching experience, and will help guide their team in their pursuit of a conference crown.

“Hortonville will be very strong this year, along with Oconto Falls,” said Porath. “But our goal is always to be at the top of the conference.”

Returning letter winners include seniors McKenna Quinter (first base); Natalie Kurth (outfield); Emily Wilfuer (catcher); Kansas Walbruck (outfield); CJ Beyer (pitcher); Amber Doughty (outfield); and sophomores Alana Beyer (infield) and Shelby Sommer (pitcher).

Other varsity candidates are Molly O’Connell and Abby Elsholtz.

The Lady Bulldogs lost Lexy Zaddack, Kelsey Fassbender, Marissa Hogan, Emily Gorges, and Emily Steffanus to graduation last year.
