Schoenick, Bernice

Bernice Schoenick, age 88, of Weyauwega, WI, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, April 14 2013 at home.

She was born on November 18, 1924, to Albert and Elsie (Stuebs) Kuehl. Bernice married a good-looking Navy man (Marvin) in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 7, 1945. Together, they raised seven children. Bernice and Marvin farmed for 42 years in the Town of Lind and she was a member of the American Legion Aux. Post 176 and the VFW 10407.

Bernice is survived by her husband of 68 years, her children: Billy (Carol) Schoenick, Wayne Schoenick, Nancy (Mike) Kempf, Jayne (Brent) Dittmann and Tammy Schoenick (Scooter Bucholtz). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Arden, sons Tracy and Bobby, and two grandchildren, Stacey and Marsha. Bernice loved her husband, visits from her family, chocolate, shopping at Kohl’s with a 30% off coupon, polka music, and jewelry stores!

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Cline Hanson Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega, WI, with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Bernice is in good hands now, and is free of pain. We will miss her stories, her sarcasm, her tenacity and her love. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.
