A 54-year-old New London woman was killed in a motorcycle crash at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the town of Bear Creek.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department reported that the woman was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 45 about 200 feet north of State Highway 76 when her bike swerved into a concrete median curb.
The motorcycle slid sideways along the curb and hit a traffic sign in the median.
The woman was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the northbound lane.
Authorities believe a gust of wind may have pushed her bike into the median, causing the accident.
Her name is not being released pending notification of family.
