Lady Trucks lose to Omro

Last Thursday’s girls’ soccer match between Clintonville and visiting Omro was a tale of two halves.

With the wind at 20 miles per hour, Mother Nature had a significant impact.

Clintonville began the contest with the wind at their backs, and quickly established an aggressive offense. Junior forwards Rachel Wisneski and Katie Collier had excellent scoring opportunities but could not find the back of the goal.

Trucker goalie Sarah Tourville made six saves in the first half, which ended 0-0.

The teams changed ends, and Omro took full advantage of the wind and an inexperienced Clintonville defense and recorded a 5-0 victory.

“Our defense has four new starters, with two of them freshmen. With the lousy weather, we have not had many legitimate practices and it shows,” said Coach Roger Lupien. “We have a lot of work to do.”
