Chris passed from this earth on May 25th, 2013 with family at his side. He put up a strong fight against cancer after being diagnosed in November 2012.

Chris was born on July 1, 1964 to the late Carl Thomas and Diana (Dan) Ecke. Chris was gifted with his father’s mechanical aptitude and loved to figure out how things worked from an early age. He could fix just about anything and was skilled in mechanics, maintenance, carpentry, masonry, and electrical systems. He worked in various jobs in these fields throughout the years, but was happiest working as an independent contractor. Chris had three children who were the joy of his life – his older son Noah (18) and the two younger boys, Caden (6) and Conner (5). Spending quality time with his boys was the highest priority in his life. He loved to get down on the floor and play with them and when they got older he enjoyed spending time with them playing video games.

Chris stayed strong throughout his illness, but the thing that always brought tears to his eyes was when he talked about not being there for his boys. He will be remembered as a very loving father. Chris also had many good friends who stood by him throughout his life and gave of their time and energy as he grew weaker and was unable to do things for himself. Without the support of these wonderful, caring people, Chris would not have been able to enjoy the quality of life that he did. Family and friends took him to his many appointments and stayed with Chris to enable him to remain in his home, as well as enabled him to achieve his final wish of taking the boys to a waterpark in the Dells for a long weekend.

Chris is survived by his three sons, Noah Thomas of Waupaca, WI; Caden and Conner Thomas of Kimberly, WI; his parents, Dan and Diana Ecke; siblings Jackie (Kevin) Moore; Steve (Natalie Peters) Thomas and Laurie (Kim) Kaminske; four nieces, two great-nieces and a great-nephew. Chris is also survived by other family and many close friends. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Carl Thomas; paternal grandparents, Ivo and Martha Thomas; and maternal grandparents, Otto and Margaret Depies.

Memorial service will be held on June 15th, 2013 at the Calvary Apostolic Church 535 McKinley Ave, Clintonville, WI at noon. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 until time of service. Family and friends are invited to stay for a light luncheon following the memorial service. Register book and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.voiefuneralhome.com
