Farm market expands in downtown Waupaca

There is now an expanded farm market on Waupaca’s city square twice a week.

The market is being held on Wednesday and Saturday on the corner of Main and Fulton streets, by the Waupaca Area Public Library.

The Wednesday hours are 2-8 p.m., with the Saturday hours 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Members of Sustainable Community Initiative (formerly called Waupaca Farmshed) are managing the markets.

The group has managed the Saturday market the past several years and has now added the Wednesday market.

Sustainable Community Initiative received approval from the Waupaca Common Council to hold the markets from June 1 to Oct. 31.

Locally produced meat, vegetables, fruits, plants, fibers and preserves are among the items which will be sold.
