Plants, ice cream and magic at the library

Connie Abert, of the Waupaca County UW-Extension office, will present a planting program at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the Weyauwega Public Library.

Children and adults are invited to it.

Also coming up at the library is a magic show called “Zoomalata Magic!” It will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.

The library’s annual ice cream social has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18.

It will be the culmination of the library’s 100th anniversary celebration.

The event will include a tribute to long-serving librarian Anita Romen, by Mary Jane Baehman and her granddaughter, Twyla Alix.

Music will be provided by “The Happy Wanderers.”

Those who attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating. The tentative rain date is Thursday, July 25.

On Tuesday, July 23, a water carnival will be held from 3-4 p.m. It is for children of all ages.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, Sue Vater Olson, of the Scandinavia Public Library, will present a program about the Loggerhead Turtle.
