Food pantry donations at July 4 parade

The youth at Trinity Lutheran Church had a wonderful float in the Fourth of July parade and the Waupaca Area Food Pantry was the recipient!

Their idea of collecting food items and monetary donations at the parade (646 pounds and $435) will benefit many people within the Waupaca school district who use the pantry to supplement their food budgets.

On behalf of the food pantry, I would also like to express our appreciation to the community for being so generous.

The food pantry helps over 200 area families every month . During the summer there are no government deliveries and lower than usual donations, so the parade items are needed and greatly appreciated.

Even greater news is that this float will become a tradition for the youth at Trinity. Hats off to them.

The Waupaca Area Food Pantry is open from 9-11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday Donations are happily accepted at those times.
