Rodeo Jail ?N Bail raises $1,500

A Jail ‘N Bail event was held Wednesday, July 3, at Eastling Insurance in downtown Manawa.

All proceeds from the event will help the Manawa Lions Club purchase a Spot Vision Screening Camera. A total of $1,500 was raised during the Jail ‘N Bail.

The camera is being purchased by local Lions and Lioness clubs to help test for vision problems in area schools.

Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Deputy Jon Robenhagen volunteered his time to arrest the prisoners. Ken Groholski served as the judge.

The people were arrested for various violations, including:

• Not having enough horse power.

• Selling an old car without tires.

• Missing the head pin.

• Cutting hair too long.

• Having flowers that did not bloom.

• Horsing around.

Each person was given a different amount of money to raise before they were released from “jail.”

The “prisoners” were invited to a luncheon provided by Eastling Insurance Agency.

The Jail ‘N Bail was done in conjunction with Manawa Rodeo Week.
