Every year, Waupaca’s youth baseball association looks to area businesses to support a team for parks and recreation baseball.
This year, Bethany Home sponsored the Major League boys’ team, the Athletics.
Beyond just sponsoring the team uniforms, they wanted to integrate themselves and the team throughout the season.
Bethany Home kept residents up to date throughout the season on how the team has been doing. The team recently wrapped up the regular season with an 8-3 record.
Bethany Home also had the boys come for dinner June 6, where they mingled with residents before their game. Bethany also brought some of the residents down to Swan Park June 19 to watch the A’s in action. After the game, the boys and residents had ice cream sundaes.
Bethany once again had the boys over July 3 for dinner and fellowship before the team headed out to its last regular season game.
To finish the season, Bethany Home invited the boys to be part of their “Home Town Heroes” float in Waupaca’s Fourth of July parade and to hand out water hundreds of spectators.
