Waupaca High School cross country high team members have been meeting three days a week this summer for distance, hill and speed workouts.
Waupaca Middle School runners can meet at the middle school at 9 a.m. starting Tuesday, July 30, at the middle school for some organized running activities. Preseason runs will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Practice for the high school team will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the high school, while the first middle school practice is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the high school.
In order to participate in official practices, high school students must have had their parents attend the mandatory fall sports meeting, held July 24 at the high school and have all paperwork completed and turned in, including a physical or alternate year card.
Parents of middle school students do not have to attend the sports meeting, but must have all paperwork turned in, as well as a physical or alternate year card on file and a $10 activity fee paid.
Necessary paperwork can be obtained at the middle school office. Cross country is open to all middle school students.
Thedacare Physicians Waupaca Family Medicine will offer WIAA physicals starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at the high school. The cost is $25. Call 715-256-3000 to make an appointment.
