Deputies find dead body in burnt vehicle

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was called to the town of Harrison at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, to investigate what was reported to be a burned vehicle.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered the body of a deceased woman inside of the vehicle.

An autopsy to determine a cause of death is pending; however, investigators consider the death a homicide.

The victim is a 36-year-old woman from Plover. Her identity is not being released at this time. The Wisconsin State Crime Lab, in coordination with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, the Plover Police Department and the Division of Criminal Investigation, has responded to a second location, an apartment in Plover, to conduct further investigation.

No one is in custody related to this investigation at this time.
