Bulldogs sweep Marines, fall to Spartans

The Bulldog varsity volleyball team needed just three games to dispatch the Marinette Marines in a Bay Conference matchup on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

New London cruised to a 25-11 win in game one and followed it up with a 25-20 win in game two. Game three was all New London, as the Bulldogs captured a 25-14 win.

The Bulldogs had 13 aces, 25 attack kills, one block kill, 21 assists, and 36 digs.

Caleigh Shaw tallied two aces, 13 attack kills, one block kill, and four digs. Payton Mix added four aces, three attack kills, and three digs. McKoy Mix contributed one ace, two attack kills, and three digs.

Morgan Gorges notched one ace, three attack kills, and one dig. Jenna Mytton scored three aces, 12 assists, and one dig. Molly O’Connell added two aces, three attack kills, eight assists, and six digs.

Alanna Beyer contributed one attack kill and 17 digs. Cassidy Shaw added one assist and one dig.

Luxemburg-Casco 3, New London 0

The Spartans never let the Bulldogs find a rhythm, winning by scores of 25-8, 25-15 and 25-16.

Caleigh Shaw notched seven attack kills, one block kill and one ace. Payton Mix added four attack kills, one block kill, and one dig. McCoy Mix contributed two aces and one dig.

Gorges tallied one block kill, Mytton had two attack kills and five assists, O’Connell notched two block kills, eight assists and one dig, and Beyer came up with six digs.

Fox Valley Lutheran Invite

The Bulldogs posted a 2-2 match record at the FVL Invite.

In their first match, New London lost to FVL by scores of 25-11 and 25-22. In match two, New London beat Winnebago Lutheran by scores of 25-21, 16-25, and 15-10. In match three, New London lost to New Holstein by scores of 25-22, 16-25, and 4-15. In match four, New London beat Kewaunee by scores of 25-20 and 25-17.

Caleigh Shaw had four aces, 20 attack kills, 11 block kills, one assist, and four digs to lead the Bulldogs. Cassidy Shaw had six aces, one attack kill, three assists, and one dig. Mytton had two attack kills, three block kills, 30 assists, and six digs. Beyer added one attack kill and 15 digs.

The Bulldogs host Seymour on Thursday, Oct. 3, for the homecoming match.
